Addy Kiddos {Great Falls Children's Photographer}

We had the pleasure of hosting 3 kiddos in our studio for a photography shoot.  Because of a beautiful dress we decided to take some portraits in front of the stained glass window.

The colors were perfect!  After getting some great shots of this beautiful girl, we were planning on moving to a more neutral background, but the second in line wanted his turn:

He really had fun in the window, we got some great smiles!  But I haven't introduced you to the 3rd member, a natural born model!

Meet Danielle! {Great Falls Baby Photographer}

So, I come from a family of four kids!  I am the only girl!!  It was awesome!  (Okay, I have nothing to compare it to, but I have to say that I might have really gotten cranky if there had been another girl to steal my thunder! *my brothers are all shaking their heads Uh-huh, yep!!*)  Anyway, all of us kids are now married with kids of our own.  I have the honor of introducing you to my parents' grandchild number 13, and she was the lucky number 13 to be born into such a great family!

Danielle's parents were nice enough to bring her into our JSV Photography Studio the other evening and we were able to get some great portraits of this beautiful little girl!

So, here she is without further ado (okay, and maybe one or two with her parents!):

She actually was more interested in telling us a story than going to sleep!

But once she zonked out, she was super precious!

Thank you, Justin and Rose, for sharing your beautiful daughter with us, she was a pleasure to photograph!!

Maternity!

So a few weeks ago we had the honor of having the Addy's join us in our new (okay, not sooo new anymore, but still "new") JSV Photography studio!  We wanted to experiment with some new ideas for maternity portraits, and they were willing!

There is just something special about a mom-to-be's glow that we really tried to capture on film. . . errr. . . in digital image???  Anyway, we wanted to get it in picture form!

And I have to say that a couple of these pictures really caught it for me!  But. . . my favorite of all really highlights the dad!

A Great Great Falls Family!

As a Great Falls Family Photographer, we really love to get families like the one I am going to show you into our studio!  We had a lot of fun with them!

Laas and Amy came to us because they hadn't had family pictures taken in a couple of years.  It really is amazing how time flies when you are trying to keep up with young kids!

Their daughter is four, and gave us some great shots, letting her attitude show through!  We loved it!  Her brother definitely tried to keep up!

Thank you, Amy and Laas, for bringing your family to us to capture this stage of your life!

Grotbo Family

We have been really enjoying our new studio at the Columbus Center in Great Falls, Montana!  It has been really nice to be able to set up our equipment and just show up and do a photo shoot!  I could really get used to this!!

This last weekend we had the joy of photographing the Grotbo Family.  While I had met some of them before, it was great to get to know the whole family!  We got the pleasure of having all 11 of them in our studio!

Wilson/Wearley Shoot

We had the pleasure of our first shoot in our new studio being the Wilson/Wearley family!  It was so exciting to be able to take portraits of this family.  They were a happy group, and we enjoyed our time together!

 Thank you for being our test subjects!  We had a great time!!

Our Family's Portraits!

It's that time of year again (*sigh*).  It has been a year since our last family portraits, and we want new ones.  I went shopping and clothes were found that kind of match.  The children are a year older.  Scott has another year of photography under his belt.  We are ready. . . well, as ready as we can be!

So we got to the studio, and 3 hours later (granted that included set up and tear down), we have a few pictures that we are willing to show you!

We must have tried this shot over 20 times.  It's a challenge when you aren't behind the camera to get all the kids to look at the camera and have a half way decent expression on their face!  It was definitely shoot some shots, go check, shoot some more, go check again.  We are very thankful for digital images!  :D

It was a little easier to get pictures of the kids!  Especially since Scott was back behind the camera!

So there we have it, one family picture, a couple of children pictures that are fun, the individual pictures, and even a few with a child and one parent.  

Definitely glad that it is easier to shoot other people's children and families than our own!!  Over all, I am satisfied with the results!

The Alaskan Family!

When Scott worked for Maxim Technologies, he became good friends with an engineer who worked in the Helena office.  Soon the whole family became friends of our family.  Then Aaron took a job in Alaska, and he and his family moved to Anchorage.  Even over the distance, Scott and Aaron have remained friends.  They email and call each other (mostly Aaron calling, but Scott enjoying the chat) and have kept up the relationship.  It seems that there are only a few people that come into our lives that actually stay friends over time and distance!

Since Aaron and his family return to Montana once a year, they decided to have Scott take some family portraits for them on this trip.

We decided to do the photography shoot at Ryan Dam near Great Falls, Montana.  There is a beautiful island right below the dam that has been turned into a park, Ryan Island Park.  The rocks were great for adding some texture to the portraits!

Scott even had some fun with one of the old frames that had been put on a rock!

Thank you, Aaron and Julie, for trusting us to capture this memory!  We enjoyed working with you and your family.  It was great to visit with you and see you again!

Testing Out the New Camera!

Scott took Nathan down to his temporary studio to play with his new camera.  Nathan is turning out to be quite a model.  He was excited to go with Dad and help him test out the new camera!  I loved the shots Scott got of him!  Now if we can just talk Nathan into cutting his hair again (thanks, Sam, for convincing him long hair looked good!)  :)

No matter the length of his hair, I think he looks great, but I may be biased!

Matt & Bonnie

We had a special treat at our indoor studio in Great Falls, MT. . . my parents showed up!

 

Yep, that's my Mom and Dad!

This wonderful couple has danced their way through 38 years of marriage, 4 kids, and 12 grandkids (so far!)

Once they remembered the steps they started enjoying themselves!

This is my father's usual look.  The cowboy hat is a big part of who he is!

And, the smiles say it all!  I expect many more years of happiness to come!

Brown Family

It has been a busy couple of weeks around here!  We had a great time at our Saturday Shoot here in Great Falls, MT!  Just got these pictures edited and uploaded to the website.  Thanks to the Brown family who let us try some neat black and white shots!

Scott wanted to add a sense of the closeness of family.  I know I'm biased, but I think he did great!

The kids were great to work with.  They gave us wonderful expressions that made shooting them easy!  I couldn't pass up adding a couple of the cute pictures!
