Brown Family

It has been a busy couple of weeks around here!  We had a great time at our Saturday Shoot here in Great Falls, MT!  Just got these pictures edited and uploaded to the website.  Thanks to the Brown family who let us try some neat black and white shots!

Scott wanted to add a sense of the closeness of family.  I know I'm biased, but I think he did great!

The kids were great to work with.  They gave us wonderful expressions that made shooting them easy!  I couldn't pass up adding a couple of the cute pictures!

Of course, we also like to add in a little bit of fun, too!!

And to the ones who started it all, thanks for trusting us with you family portraits!

Sam

We met Sam on Saturday for the first time.  He came to our Saturday Studio Shoot in Great Falls, Montana looking for Senior pictures.  He is a senior at Fairfield High School.

Right off the bat we could tell that he would be willing to try some new things, and we had fun!

Scott decided that he could try a few of the edgier photos that he had been wanting to do.  We even added a purple jell to give some vibrancy!

And for me anyway, Sam kind of gave off a Bon Jovi vibe (not sure if he would appreciate that, but being a child of the 80's, it worked for me!)

Thank you, Sam and Jessie, we enjoyed the time we spent with you.  It was great getting to know you!  Sam, you were an awesome model!

Shumate Family

So after the purchase of some new lights, Scott and I set up the temporary studio here in Great Falls, MT.  With the help of the Shumates, we put the new lights to the test!  Since this was the first time with this setup we were excited to see the results!!

And as previously noted, Scott did rework the family picture in a picture:

I think it is a lot of fun!!  Thank you to the Shumates, you were a pleasure to work with!

Pictures Inside of a Picture Fun

So over this last weekend Scott sat down and worked on a new technique.  I won't lie to you, I have absolutely no idea how to do it!  The final product though is fun!!  Who can pass up a family portrait like this?

While Scott says he wants to rework this photo to get the kiddos a little larger, I think it was an awesome first try!

Thank you to the Shumates for being our first guinea pigs!!

Santa at Longfellow

One of the guys who works at our office has been dressing up as Santa and visiting local school kids for several years now.  Last year, he decided to ask a few people if they would be interested in helping out by purchasing some little toys and candy to give the kids.  Before he knew it, quite a lot of money was available for the cause, and several hundred kids each got a bag of goodies, including gloves, candy, toothbrushes, and toys.  Seeing how much it touched the children, he wanted to do it again this year.

Thanks to some generous people and businesses, Santa was again able to hand out goody bags for the kids at Longfellow this year.  Some of the kids were a little shy.

Some were definitely not.

But they all seemed very appreciative.

It's interesting to me that so many of us seem to be generous with our time and/or money, but it often takes one individual to get the ball rolling.  Perhaps we occasionally need that one person to remind us of all the other people living outside of our daily routines.  It's not that we don't want to help those in need, it's just that we're usually too busy trying to survive our own lives to notice the struggles of others.

It's good to get little reminders like that.  But it's also good to give them.  Hopefully we can take turns reminding each other, and not just during this time of year.

~~ Merry Christmas~~

Northern Montana Healthcare (NMHC) Clinic

CTA recently asked me to shoot an interior remodel project they completed for the Northern Montana Healthcare Clinic in Havre, Montana.  CTA's design team implemented a few unique elements into the remodel, including some form resin products and some custom carpeting.  The form resin light diffusers near the ceiling look amazing, and the willow stick panels are very cool as well.

Having grown up west of Havre, I spent quite a lot of time in this space waiting for Doctor Elliot (a good doctor and a very nice guy, but always late).  Even so, I'd never have recognized it now!

Great job, CTA - it looks fantastic!
